A.H. Riise Royal Danish Navy
Navy Bitter

For our Navy bitter, we have used our popular XO Reserve rum as the base, to which we have remained faithful to the ingredients A.H. Riise used 140 ears ago in his Apotheke, or pharmacy, on the Danish West Indian island of Saint Thomas. Royal Danish Navy West Indian Bitter includes extracts from more than 30 different botanicals, spices, and herbs, the majority of them sourced in the Caribbean, including gentian root, quinine, bitter orange, cloves, sandalwood, cocoa beans, coffee beans, and a touch of vanilla. This product is discontinued and replaced by Pharmacy 1838 Bitter.

1838 Bitter is the successor to our Navy Bitter and contains extracts from botanicals, spices, and herbs such as galangal root, ginger, bitter orange, curacao peel, and cardamom. These herbs and spices give a refined scent and taste, boosted by the right amount of alcohol, which gives the warm sensation in your body on its way down to its final destination.
