The Frigate Jylland

45% vol.

This excellent blend celebrates the proud ship “Frigate Jylland” that patrolled the Caribbean waters around the Danish West Indies. History says that the sailors on board were rewarded with a daily ration of rum produced by Albert Heinrich Riise himself. It was during this time that the Frigate Jylland would dock off Saint Thomas to take on fresh supplies, and the relationship between A.H. Riise and the illustrious vessel began. Frigate Jylland is a dark and intense blend with a aroma of cigar boxes, caramel and chocolate.

A taste of history

Our Frigate Jylland blend is an exclusive edition of our popular Danish Navy series. Each sip is a journey back in time to experience what is said to have maintained the morale of Danish sailors during the 1800’s. Today we blend our products with respect to how they were made back in A.H. Riise’s original apothecary on the island of Saint Thomas in the Danish West Indies, and you can find The Frigate Jylland permanently docked in Ebeltoft, Denmark as a reminder of the proud naval history of Denmark.

Royal Danish Navy gold mark

Life on board

The frigate Jylland was first and foremost a warship, which greatly influenced life on board. Everyday life was filled with training in the use of handguns and cannons. It was characterized by monotonous work routines and exercises. In return, conscripts often received excellent training onboard.
