This is a very special blend indeed. It celebrates 175 years of Albert Heinrich Riise, and it was bottled for the first time in 2013, exactly 175 years after he first opened the doors to his pharmacy on Saint Thomas. These precious drops have been a long time in the making, but only the very best is worthy of the anniversary of such a historic philanthropist.

At first cool mint appears on top of toffee and leather and then a hint of citrus

Aged quality
The heart of this excellent anniversary rum-based spirit drink reveals itself in the blend of a perfect combination of aged drops, amply supported by slightly younger, resilient brothers. All aged in the very best PX and Oloroso sherry casks from cellars in the West Indies and Central America, which contributes to the memorable dark and sweet taste.
Riise’s weird and wonderful creatures
In his search for more knowledge, A.H. Riise found a variety of herbs, plants, and animals. Elaps Riisei, or the circled coral snake, is a 35-cm-long, colourfully decorated snake with a life-threatening bite: Found in 1858 on St. Jan. Today it can be found on our 175-year anniversary XO reserve label.Â
